Both the world and medicine are rushing forward at a dizzying pace, changing not only treatment guidelines, but also methods and with them - equipment. This chapter focuses on the topic of the evolution of the stethoscope as a tool for auscultation of the heart. It describes changes in its design, effectiveness and the implementation of newer and newer solutions to improve its operation. Scientific articles from PubMed and EMBASE databases were used in the content analysis of this chapter. After studying them, it follows that the implementation of new solutions in medicine is desirable and applies to all areas of medicine including such basic tools as the stethoscope. They improve the quality of services provided and, by detecting heart disease more accurately and quickly, enable early detection of pathology and selection of more effective treatment, in addition to enabling the development of such forms of medical practice as telemedicine. In addition, they are also a convenience for doctors themselves.
